I am a registered Relax & Renewยฎ restorative yoga teacher, trained by Judith Lasater and have completed 500hr yoga teacher training with Byron Yoga Centre. I have also trained with AntiGravityยฎYoga, Rainbow Kids Yoga and attended workshops with Maria Kirsten, Donna Farhi, Elena Brower, Leslie Kaminoff, Jennifer Crescenzo, Mark Pheely, Irene Ais, and J.Brown. I thank my teachers and students for teaching me so much every time we meet. Heartfelt thanks to my family, blood and chosen, for keeping it real.
I have a daily meditation practice and have been practicing yoga since 1990. Originally I studied in the traditions of Iyengar Yoga, focusing on the principles of anatomy and physiology, to access deeper levels of consciousness, awareness and happiness. Now I attend regular pilates sessions and incorporate pilates based movements into the classes I teach. Whilst practising, I observe and listen. My experiences inform my teaching, which is constantly evolving and changing. By focusing on the breath, throughout your yoga practice, it's possible to find peace of mind.
Since 2011, I have been fortunate to teach to a wide range of people, elders, teenagers, elite sports people, corporate staff and private clients. I've developed chair yoga exercises and adapted restorative yoga sequences to bring about deep relaxation. All forms of exercise, such as running, swimming, surfing, dance, sports and gym workouts can be enhanced through yoga, giving you more freedom of movement and focus. My intention is to make yoga accessible and I like to accomodate all levels of mobility.
I find more and more students are seeking to rest and take refuge from the constant buzz of living in this century. I love how yoga is evolving. Getting back to her essence, less postures more experiential. Yoga is transformative like alchemy.
However you come across yoga, make it your own yoga practice. Feel and observe your responses and sensations. Develop a practice of contemplation and meditation. Becoming completely present, is one of the truly beautiful aspects of yoga.
